These are two things Robert "Robby” Lee embodied in all he did in his career and in the community he loved. His athletic accomplishments in high school, drew regional attention. Robby was active in football and track and field. Upon graduation in 1965, Robby played football at Michigan State University before transferring to Eastern Michigan University, where he finished his football career and bachelor's degree. After earning his master's degree at Bowling Green State University, Robby spent two years teaching in Clyde before returning home to Upper Sandusky in 1974, where he taught and coached for nearly three decades. Robby not only impacted youth in the classroom, but on the athletic fields as well. He coached football, track and field, and tennis at Upper Sandusky High School and worked on the fundamentals of basketball with area elementary school students. Robby also spent 33 years officiating high school and college basketball, retiring in 2009. He also served on the Upper Sandusky park board from 1986-2001.

He also continually encouraged Upper Sandusky athletic teams before games and meets. Wherever Robby went, he mentored, inspired, and built up those he encountered.
