1. Korean War Marker
Inscription. The Korean War began on June 25, 1950 when North Korea invaded South Korea. Entry into the Korean Conflict by The United States was obtained from the United Nations. An armistice was finally agreed to and signed on July 27,1953. The border between North and South Korea was set on the 38th Parallel with neither side conceding defeat. There were 33,651 Americans KIA, 2830 non combat casualties and 103,284 MIA.
