1. Mexican War Marker
Inscription. The war with Mexico was fought over territorial boundaries in the southern part of Texas. This war lasted from May 3, 1846 to March 10, 1848. The Mexican government ceded two fifths of its territory to the United States which established the southern Texas border. There were 1733 Americans KIA. 11,550 non combat casualties and 4152 WIA. Estimated cost of war $71,400,000.
