Riverdale School is the surviving example of the role played by P.W.A. in aiding the growth of the school system in Knox County. In addition to its illustration of educational growth, it retains most of its original architectural integrity. The work, executed by Barber & McMurray, displays a significant interpretation of Classical Revival architecture. This design, its representation of the education system, and its ties with the Depression-era funding afforded by
