1. Welland County Court House Marker
Inscription.
The Welland County Court House was built in 1855-56, four years after the creation of the County of Welland.

It was designed by architect Kivas Tully in a Neo-classical style and built of Queenston limestone by the local firm of Hellems and Bald.

The choice of Welland as the County Seat contributed to the growth and prosperity of the Village.

The Regional Municipality of Niagara assumed ownership of the building in 1970 and the City of Welland acquired title to the property in 1974.

Designated for preservation by the Welland Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee as an Ontario Bicentennial Project 1984
