Thorold's Old Firehall
1878
Designed by John Latshaw in red and yellow brick, this outstanding Thorold landmark features a combination bell and hose tower with decorative arches over the windows and entrances. Built to replace an earlier fire hall for the Protection Hose Co. #1, the basement housed the town police station and jail until the late 1950s. The original bell, made in Troy, N.Y., was removed in 1964 and relocated to the Towpath Fire Station.

Erected 2013 by Heritage Thorold.
