1. Village of Spencerville Marker
Inscription.  Canal specifications called for the canal to be 28' wide at the bottom and 40' wide at the top. The water level was 4' deep and the tow path was 10' wide. A team of mules, donkeys or horses pulled the boat along by means of a 90 foot tow rope.
