Inscription. In 1892 the council of the burgeoning town of Prince Albert commissioned the architectural firm of F. J. Rostrick and Son of Hamilton to design a town hall/opera house. Built by A. and W. B. Goodfellow of locally produced brick, the building was a combination of elegance and solidity. The porte-cochere entranceway and wrought iron balcony are unique for town halls of the era. City services, a performance area, a magistrate's court and a jail were located in this facility for many years. In 1969 the structure was converted into an arts and senior citizen's centre. It is the oldest building of its type in Saskatchewan.

Erected by Government of Saskatchewan.
