The United States Marine Corps is responsible for conducting expeditionary and amphibious operations in conjunction with the other branches of the United States Armed Forces. The Marine Corps is a subdivision of the United States Navy and was established on November 10th, 1775. The Marines are a combat-ready land force for the Navy and have become distinguished from the other branches for their unique "fighting spirit".
