The United States Navy is the naval warfare branch of the United States Armed Forces. It was established on October 13th, 1775, just 4 months after the United States Army. The mission of the United States Navy is to train and equip combat ready naval forces capable of winning wars, deterring aggression and maintaining freedom of the seas. Before its establishment, the Massachusetts Naval Militia was the primary naval force of the United States. The Navy also includes the United States Marine Corps and the United States Navy Seals.
