Inscription.
“All my life I have looked out over
the Courthouse Square.”

H. Rhodes Jordan, Sr.
1918-1993

For nearly half a century Rhodes Jordan watched over the courthouse square from his upstairs office in this building. Constructed in 1908, this building originally housed Albert B. Jordan's general merchandise store. The top floor soon became the Lawrenceville telephone exchange. Upon his return from law school in Atlanta, Rhodes Jordan established his law practice on the second floor. Following in the tradition of his grandfather and father, who were both Lawrenceville city councilmen, Rhodes Jordan went on to serve eight non consecutive terms as the city's mayor.
