Regarding Hillsborough County World War I Veterans Memorial. The statue on this monument is not an original Viquesney Doughboy, but a recently cast bronze statue apparently deliberately sculpted to look like E. M. Viquesney’s “Spirit of the American Doughboy.” The sculptor and date the statue was cast is not indicated on the sculpture.

Also see . . .  When in Tampa!. This link, published by the monument designer Timothy Lawn on January 16, 2016, indicates the statue has been in place at least since then. The page contains a graphic showing photos of the statue in place, and a design concept drawing. (Submitted on August 13, 2024, by Les Kopel of Oxnard, California.)
