Is named in memory of
Lt Col James Michael Basta.
He was known by his call sign “Tornado White” while a member of the Ruthless Riders, 7th Armored Squadron, Air Cavalry. He served three tours in Vietnam and was shot down 6 times. His awards include the Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star(3), Purple Heat(2), Meritorious Service Medal(2) and an Air Medal(55).
