Quality of life in Gwinnett is unsurpassed with educational choices from Pre-K to PhD, housing variety from single-family subdivisions to downtown condos to large-tract estates, and entertainment options that include five professional sports teams. The county is home to 25,000 businesses of all sizes, including more than 650 foreign-owned companies, offering good jobs close to home. Community pride is visible today in all the places where people gather – in homes, churches, schools, cultural institutions, parks, and libraries.

Infrastructure supports economic development
Gwinnett built major water and sewer systems to keep up with rapid growth in the 1970s. Continued growth brought extensive road construction, transit service, a parks and recreation system, libraries, and county wide public safety improvements to enhance the quality of life for all Gwinnett residents. Many of these improvements have been funded over the years by a voter-approved Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, or SPLOST.

Education is a top priority
Gwinnett County has long attracted pioneers who seek to contribute to their communities and build a better future for their families. A good education is essential to those goals. The earliest dirt-floor schools developed into today's nationally recognized public school system - the largest in Georgia.
