Marker is on North Main Street (Business U.S. 319) just south of 1st Avenue Northwest, on the right when traveling south. Moultrie Carnegie Library is said to be the oldest free-standing building in Colquitt County. Property for the building was acquired by Moultrie in 1907, and the bids were received and construction was started later that year. The building was occupied on April 27, 1908 and remained as a public library until November 1, 1964 when it began being used for law offices.

2. Carnegie Library of Moultrie.
It is a two-story red brick building with some Georgian Revival elements. Its brick walls are load-bearing and laid in stretcher bond upon a rusticated cut stone foundation. It has quoins made of the same rusticated granite stone. Its front entrance is flanked by pilasters. The
