On July 28, 2015 Swainsboro Police Chief Randy Ellison, Swainsboro Fire Chief Mike Strobridge, SAL Squadron 103 Commander Henry Thompson, and Swainsboro City Administrator Al L. Lawson traveled to New York City to meet with firefighters from Rescue One New York City Fire Department. During that meeting NYC firefighters presented the SAL and the City of Swainsboro a piece of the Twin Tower II remains. This is the piece of steel you see embedded in the EMS/Fire/Police memorial here. This saηred piece of steel is dedicated to the men and women who bravely gave their lives to save others and protect our freedom. This will always remind us of that terrible tragedy on September 11, 2001.
