Inscription. The 3rd Armored Division was activated on April 15, 1941 at Camp Beauregard, Louisiana. From Normandy to Dessau, its fighting men courageously earned the name Spearhead and laid the foundation for lasting peace in Europe.

Louisiana National Guard, Camp Beauregard. The Louisiana Maneuvers & Military Museum is located on site. Highly recommend checking before a visit to make sure base/museum is opened and accessible to civilians, as it is an active military base.
