Inscription. Generations of Bulloch County residents have enjoyed the unique flavors of Vandy's Bar-B-Que. Vandy's opened in 1929 in Portal, GA, on Mullet Road and later located to Statesboro in the rear of the Bargain Corner Grocery. In 1943 Vandy's relocated here, and has been using the same brick and cement block barbecue pit to this day.
