1. The Chicopee City Hall Marker

Inscription. This municipal government building, designed by Charles E. Parker, noted Boston architect, is patterned in architectural design after the famous Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, Italy. The unique tower is 147 feet high. Construction work started in 1870 and dedication exercises took place on December 21, 1871. The total cost, including land and furniture, was $101,360.38.
