1. About municipalities in Pennsylvania
Shrewsbury is not a village as Pennsylvania does not have villages. The Commonwealth only has three types of municipalities: cities, boroughs and townships, with one exception of the Town of Bloomsburg, which is managed similarly to a borough. Boroughs in Pennsylvania are analogous to towns in many other states. Shrewsbury is legally organized as a borough.
