304 (4.32.8.10.60) Dwelling, 809 West Street, c. 1920s This is a two and one half story, frame, center hall, hip roofed, four square. Colonial Revival house with a front gabled pavilion, aluminum cornice, flared eaves, and pedimented gabled dormers on the front and on the sides. There are two massive, corbel capped chimneys on the side ridges of the hip roof. The windows are mainly thirty over one, double hung sash. There is a Palladian window on the first story on the south side. An arched window is in the gable end of the pavilion and in the north and south dormers; quarreled windows(Submitted on April 24, 2025, by Pete Skillman of Townsend, Delaware.)are in the east and west dormers. There is a central doorway with leaded sidelights. At the northwest corner of the first floor is a bow window. A two story, monumental porch with Scamozi columns and modillion cornice is across the front and wraps to both sides. On the south side there are two, one story, projecting, three part bays, and on the rear of the north side is a porte cochere. The door to the second story porch of the pavilion is wood with quarreled lights and top and sidelight. The house is covered with aluminxim siding and has an asphalt shingled roof and brick foundation.
