1923: Stadium opens as "Muehlebach Field", named for George Muehlebach, who owned the minor-league Blues
1924: KC Monarchs won the Negro Leagues World Series here
1937: Ballpark was named "Ruppert Stadium" honoring Yankees owner Jacob Ruppert
1939: Lou Gehrig played his last game in a Yankees uniform here
1943: Ballpark renamed "Blues Stadium"
1955: Ballpark renamed "Municipal Stadium" and upper deck added. KC Athletics brought to Kansas City
1963: Dallas Texas football team brought here as Kansas City Chiefs
1964: Musical group "The Beatles" played in concert
1969: New KC Royals baseball team played first game here
1971: Chiefs played Dolphins in longest game of NFL history on this site
1973: Royals moved to new Truman sports complex
1976: Municipal Stadium torn down

"Among the famous athletes who played here was Leroy "Satchel" Paige. His last game was for the KC Athletics at age 59. Other baseball Hall of Famer's who were here included Hank Aaron, Yogi Berra, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Phil Rizzuto, Jackie Robinson and Babe Ruth"
