Inscription. In 1906 land was deeded by George Moffett and wife to the Hardin County Board of Education for the building of a two story school. Built in 1907 or 08 this building apparently burned and a new building was erected in the mid-1920s to house both the elementary and high school. This building was a white framed one story building with a gymnasium. Sometime in the mid-1930s it also burned down. A new brick school was constructed shortly thereafter and continued to be used as a high school and elementary school. The first graduating class was in 1930 and the last graduating class was in 1963. The high school was closed in 1963 and the elementary in 1976. Hundreds of students gained a better life with the education they achieved here.
