Hunter Renfroe played for the Bethesda Big Train in 2011 and 2012. In 2011, he hit .305 with eight home runs and 30 RBIs while leading the Ripken League champion Big Train team that was named the nation's top summer college team by Perfect Game USA. In 2012, he shattered Ripken League hitting records with a slugging percentage of .866, 16 home runs, 53 RBIs, 47 runs scored, and 116 total bases. In 2012, the Big Train retired his #11. Hunter played baseball at Mississippi State University and was the thirteenth player selected in the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft. Drafted by the San Diego Padres, he was named the 2016 MVP of the Pacific Coast League. Hunter hit 89 home runs in three full seasons with the Padres. In 2020, he played for the American League champion Tampa Bay Rays. In December 2020, he signed with the Boston Red Sox.
