Inscription. The Clean and Green Team, one of several teams formed in 2016 to assist with revitalization projects for Oakland, completed this Bottle Cap Mosaic in the summer of 2019. Plastic caps were collected by area schools and businesses, then sorted out by color by the Green Team volunteers. The Garrett Arts Council supplied the funds for the PVC panels, glue and screws. Garrett County Extension Office employees glued the lids to 3 of the panels and Oakland Girl Scout Troop #55004 finished the last 4 panels. Green team members then screwed each of the estimated 1500 caps onto the panels. The team is hoping that more mosaics will be completed in the future using more of the thousands that were collected. The clean and Green Team was also involved with the completion of the Oakland Dog Park and the upkeep of the Keep Oakland Beautiful planters downtown.

Erected 2009 by Garrett Arts Council.
