Regarding Tom Knox House. In addition to being Berkeley town marshal, county tax collector, and county chimney inspector, Knox was a cement mason and plasterer. Three of the homes exterior walls each have a different stucco texture. Knox presumably used his home as an example of different stucco finishes customers could choose from.
