The 65 ton "Fireless Cooker” was built for the Avon Lake Plant of Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company. This operated without a firebox by getting a charge of superheated steam from a stationary boiler which lasted about 4 hours. It was acquired by our museum in 1977.
