Originally built for the Nickel Plate Road as their #349, it was used in the coalfields of the Wheeling District, pulling heavy coal trains. This unit and most of her 19 sisters toiled for many more years with the Norfolk & Western and finally with Norfolk Southern as their #52. It was retired in 2009 and donated to the museum in 2010.
