1. NKP #1047 Marker
Inscription. This wooden caboose, was built by Lafayette Car Works in 1882. It was rescued from a farmer's field in Michigantown, Indiana in 1986, where it was used as a clubhouse for a boy scout club. After 8 years of hard work, the restoration was complete. It was moved into this building to protect it from the elements. It is the oldest car in the museum.
