Inscription. Old fort near this point was site of first Masonic meetings in northern Indiana, early spring 1823, leading in October to original Wayne Lodge No. 25, ancestor of present Lodge of same name and number.
 
Erected 1977 by The Grand Lodge F. & A.M. of Indiana.
