Inscription.  This is a simple church built in 1837 by Episcopalians on land they purchased for a dollar from settler Johnson Niles. The little church at Troy Corners, on Square Lake Road near Livernois, was conveyed to the Methodists in the 1860s. The youth group on the steps met in the bell room while the choir stood shoulder-to-shoulder behind the taller wood railing in the chancel.
