Inscription. 1965 Ottawa-Glandorf High School Graduate where he earned a berth as an All-State Catcher.
He spent 17 years as a player in the minor and major leagues and five years as a manager in the Chicago Cub's organization. His last position was bullpen coach for the Cub's, a position in which he was beginning his third year.
His major league career included stints with the Philadelphia Phillies, Seattle Mariners, Cubs and Texas Rangers. While with Philadelphia he played brifley with the Toledo Mud Hens. A major highlight of his career was hitting two grand-slam home runs in the same game.
"Field of Dreams"
His dream began on a sandlot in Ottawa, Ohio.
All who knew him as a man and a ballplayer will miss him.
