1. Herb's Place Marker
Inscription.
Located in lot No. 24 in the first plat of Lebanon, 35 E. Mulberry was in the 1870s a hat dealer's. The building was less than half as deep as it is now. By 1900, it was its size today, 18 ft. by 105 ft. It had been a saloon, bowling alley, grocery and poolroom. It became the tavern it was best known as in 1939 - Herb's Place.

Three bartenders and owner Herb Yunkes often worked behind the mahogany bar. Herb died in 1954, yet Herb's Place remained open till 1974. The license bureau was here in the 1980s, followed by a series of gift and antique shops. In 2006, the second floor was a beauty salon, but by 2016 it was a home with an art studio below.
