1. Chinese Campsite Marker
Inscription.
Construction of the railroad through Simi Valley commenced in 1900 and was completed in 1904. The Chinese are credited with helping to build many of America's western railroad systems. Chinese blue ware pottery shards (broken pieces) characterized by blue designs on white backgrounds have been found in this area.
