Inscription.

The Sordoni Art Gallery was founded in 1973, with it being initially housed in the Stark Learning Center for several decades before moving to its current location on South Main Street in 2017. Andrew Sordoni III named the gallery after his grandfather, former state senator Andrew J Sordoni who had an appreciation for the fine arts. President Michelini and the late Sordoni envisioned the gallery to "enhance the cultural life of both the campus and the community". The creation of the new art gallery was born out of the devastation and loss from Hurricane Agnes, as it was seen as a testament to the deep commitment to the cultural life of the community, as well as to the expansion of student learning at Wilkes College.
