1. Hogan House Marker
Inscription. One of several log structures on North Jefferson Street, this c. 1860 single pen log house was once part of the Willis Graves estate. It is named after James Hogan, who owned it from 1881 to 1912. The house was rehabilitated as a craft shop in 1992. A second log house was later moved to the site from Dry Ridge, KY. The Hogan House is typical of the log construction that was popular in Boone County until the time of the Civil War. It was built primarily of poplar and walnut logs and features dovetail notching.
