The Catholic Church is more than bricks and mortar; it is the people who, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, bring her mission to life.
But the structure you see before you is a tangible expression of the deeply rooted faith of the German immigrants who founded this parish community in 1841; its artistry and craftsmanship their labor of love for God, our Creator, and Jesus Christ, our Savior.
The pews are stained with tears of joy and sorrow. The marble thresholds are worn from the footsteps of all who have come to be baptized, to receive the Holy Eucharist, to be married, and to mourn for their dead.
Like our forebears, we pledge to be people of faith and action. We open our doors to all who seek a spiritual home, and we build on the foundation they established to nurture and inspire generations to come.
In an increasingly secular world, it is vital to have a shelter for our souls, a place that grounds us unerringly in the Truth.
May Mother of God Church always be that place.
"What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but do not have works?"
James 2:14
Erected by Mother of God Catholic Church.
