In the years 1662, construction began on this site for the first rectory of Notre-Dame. The same building became the first bishop's residence and the cradle of the Seminary of Québec in 1663.

Le premier presbytère Notre-Dame, commencé à cet endroit en 1662, fut aussi le premier palais épiscopal et le berceau du Séminaire de Québec en 1663.
