1. Jackson County Marker
Inscription. Jackson County commemorates Andrew Jackson, the first of three Tennesseans to become President of the United States. Straddling two major geographic divisions, the Highland Rim and the Central Basin, terrain varies with sharp escarpments and rolling land sliced by stream valleys that flow into the Roaring and Cumberland Rivers. About 360 million years ago, it was most likely a comet or meteorite that shattered their surface to create enigmatic Flynn Creek Crater.
