1. Sevier County Marker
Inscription. An International Biosphere Reserve noted for its botanical diversity, southern a Devore County is in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Shining streams of the Little Pigeon River have rolled for eons, draining these hazy and ancient North American mountains. Sexier was named after John Sevier, King’s Mountain commander, veteran Indian fighter, governor of The State of Franklin, Congressman, and first governor of Tennessee. In 1783, pioneers began a settlement friendly with the Cherokee. Grande Ole Opry star Dolly Parton is a native.
