Inscription. St. Joseph Catholic Church is an adobe structure that was erected to house worship services in 1875 for the Catholic population. In 1874, three acres of land near Comanche Springs were donated to the Catholic Church for the purpose of constructing a permanent sanctuary, which was completed in 1877. The St. Joseph parish was established in 1916. Multiple repairs and additions have been made to the structure; however, the church still retains its original adobe walls.
