This cornerstone commemorates the site of McCloskey Hall, a men's residence hall built on this site in 1962 and razed in 2003. The building was named for lawyer, banker and U.S. Navy veteran David M. McCloskey, a member of the Council of Trustees from 1931 through 1941 and One of the founders of the Student Association, Inc.
