Kansas Runners Dominate the 1500-meter Run
Another Olympian, Ashland native Wes Santee, dominated U.S. Track in the mid-1950s. The Kansas Relay's Mens' 1500-Meter Run is named after him.
Olympic Silver Medal Winner and Wichita native Jim Ryun, a former high school track and post-collegiate runner, is considered the face of Kansas Relays. The Boys' 1600-Meter Run is named in his honor.
