Inscription. During the late 1920s and early 1930s the Spring Garden School "on the hill across the road" was a two-story wooden structure. Grades one through nine were taught in two rooms upstairs and two rooms downstairs. In 1936, a new brick building was constructed to include grades one through twelve. The new school came with an indoor basketball court, the community's favorite spectator sport. On December 6, 1945 this building was destroyed by fire. Classes were held in the vocational building and churches in the community. Spring Garden School was rebuilt 1947 and still educates the youth of our community today.
