Old Grist Mill
Original mill stones used in first grist mill in Wayne Township. Weight 3540 pounds. Cut from native stone which proved too soft replaced by French Stone.
Grist mill built by Loomis and Brown on Pymatuning Creek, south of Underwood Rd., in 1820.
A mile-long mill race, dug in 1826, provided additional water power. Last owner-operator was Charles Fobes. Mill abandoned 1902.
Stones donated and mounted by Don and Edythe Dillon at the Wayne Town Hall, for 175th anniversary of the settling of Wayne Township, July 22nd and 23rd, 1978.
