Leo Herman Frijda
Amsterdam, 1 augustus 1923 - Overveen, 1 oktober 1943

(English translation:)

The occupier did not allow the Jewish Leo Frijda to study medicine. He went on to work as a medical analyst and also published poems and prose in the illegal literary magazine Lichting.

He joined resistance group CS-6 and in early 1943, together with Jan Verleun, was closely involved in the liquidation of Hendrik Seyffardt, commander of the Dutch Volunteer Legion. He also participated in a railway sabotage in the Amsterdam marshes ("reed lands") and liquidated two informants from the Sicherheitspolizei ("Security Police").

In the summer of 1943, CS-6 was rounded up and Frijda was arrested. His fiancιe, also active in the resistance, was then forced by the occupying forces to work as an informant.

Leo Frijda was executed on 1 October 1943 with eighteen other members of the resistance group in the dunes near Overveen.
