1. Clermont County Fair Marker
Inscription.
One of the oldest fairs in Ohio. The first fair was held in Franklin, Monroe Township, in 1846. The fair was held in Bantam, 1849 - 1856. and Olive Branch, 1857 - 1863. The fair relocated to Boston; now called Owensville. The Clermont County Agricultural Society manages the fair. At first the fair was known as the Boston Fair. The first log school in Stonelick Township, 1805, was located on the site of the fairgrounds.

It is believed that the first baby contest was held in 1878. The top prize was $5. The first known bicycle races took place in 1895 with a purse of $50.

In 1910, another 25 acres was purchased to enlarge the size of the fairgrounds and in 1911, the first grandstand was built.
