This site possesses national significance as an exceptional distillery complex with the associated post-prohibition expansion of the distilled spirits industry. The district contains a diverse collection of historic buildings and structures ranging in date from about 1880 to 1953 that provide an unparalleled opportunity to study the evolution of building types, building materials, and construction technology associated with the American whiskey industry.
