Inscription.  
Dit pand werd in 1908 ontworpen door de Leidse architect W.C. Mulder. In 1853 legde A.W. Sijthoff op deze plaats de grondslag voor het naar hem genoemde concern. Tussen 1860 en 1917 werd hier het Leidsch Dagblad gemaakt.

This building was designed in 1908 by the Leiden architect W.C. Mulder. In 1853 A.W. Sijthoff established here the firm that was named after him. Between 1860 and 1917, the Leidsch Dagblad ("Leiden Daily Paper") was published here .
