Inscription. This sculpture recreates the dimensions of the back porch on the original Butler A. Jones House of Black Culture. This was a space of respite, socializing, and community for Black students at OWU. Back Porch is intended to serve as a new performance and gathering space that honors Black lives and resists the erasure of Black history at Ohio Wesleyan.
